Lunasa Market: How It Works

During two shopping windows each month, Lunasa members purchase items online from local producers. Following each shopping window, producers and customers meet at the Lunasa Warehouse to exchange goods. It's quick and easy.

Lunasa strives to include the best local bounty and to personally support producers. Each producer is hand selected by Lunasa. On-site location visits ensure that all producers meet our standards of quality, are certified, and follow applicable state and federal regulations. Each producer will have a personalized description of their practices and products on their profile page to help you make the decisions that are best for you.

Membership

As a Lunasa member you have the opportunity to order what you want, when you want it. If a producer has it listed as available online and you order it, it's as if they will be picking it, baking it, or processing it just for you. Customize your order every time you log in and personally shop from a variety of local Michigan producers of meats, eggs, dairy, produce, maple syrup, honey, beverages, and household items such as natural soaps. All products are made in Michigan and brought to you in person by the producer to the Lunasa warehouse on market day.

To become a member of Lunasa, a $40.00 annual membership fee can be purchased online at anytime. Membership gives you access to producers of local goods, year round, through an online ordering system and an in-person distribution transfer location. Other benefits of membership include meeting new people through the market, contributing to the health of the local economy, and gaining the overall feeling that you've done something to make a difference in your community.

Producer Membership

To become a Lunasa producer, first become a member of Lunasa and then request producer privileges from the Member Menu. Review our Producer Guidelines and fill out and send in the Producer Application along with copies of your certifications, licenses, and proof of insurance. Our team will review your information, contact you, and schedule a tour of your facilities.
